Sometimes all you have to do is ask.....

I say this because sometimes it really PAYS to just ask for a discount.

First instance of saving money (in the last few days) was when I needed to buy a birthday present at Target. It rang up for 19.99 but the sign said it was on sale for 14.99. ( I was pretty sure anyway.) I mentioned it to the lady at the cash register and she changed the price. She didnt question it...she just changed it.

Second....I didn't think my Dish Network bill was right. I called (even though it is a hassle and usually takes up about 10-15 minutes) and they credited me $40 something dollars. That was worth my time.

Third....I wanted some ornaments to put in a vase for my dining room table but didnt want to spend too much money for them. I found a box that had some ornaments that were scratched and one was even broken. I thought this will be perfect. I asked and the lady at the register said how about I will give you a dollar off. I said okay...not perfect but okay. Then they rang up less than the price on the box and she gave me another dollar off. So that is my deals for the last few days.

I am always looking for a few ways to save money...and we put out a newsletter at work last week that listed other tips.

Some of them are......
hotels.com
restaurant.com (this one looked really good...I haven't tried it yet but plan to soon)
riteaid.com
retailmenot.com (for coupon codes for Home Depot and other major stores)
aaa.com
gasbuddy.com

That is all for today, but if you have some tips to save money...let me know....

Not me Monday!!

It is that time again for not me Monday and what I did NOT do this past week

I did not get so excited when Grant won 2nd place in the costume contest last night at church and was jumping up and down. I did not get so excited that I didnt even notice who won first place. That would just be so silly and immature!!!

I did not hide all the candy Grant got from Trunk or Treat so that my hubby and John wouldnt eat it all.

I did not sneak off and go shopping when I was supposed to be on an errand for my hubby...and I knew my mom was at my house to watch Grant.

I did not take the day off to get my hair colored last week.

I did not have so much fun at the pumpkin patch with Grants class.

I did not wish the weekend was longer so that I could enjoy the fall weather outside.

Not me Monday!!

It is that time again for what you DID NOT do this week. Check out MckMamma's blog to follow along:

I did Not........

forget to buy a birthday present for my Best friend's son and leisurely go eat breakfast on Saturday morning and go the outdoor market before rushing frantically to Toys R Us to buy something and wrap it in the parking lot causing us to be late for the birthday party. Who would be that forgetful??

I did not want to scream when I realized my husband bought 100 fair tickets when I normally only buy 20-40. We will have to go every day to use that many tickets. I kept begging him to please tell me that you are joking.

I did not stay in my pajamas all day on Sunday and skip church because we were too exhausted from going all day Saturday.

I did Not let Grant skip his bath on Saturday night because he was too tired. Who would be that nasty after going to the fair????

I did not.......

It is that time again...playing along w/ Mck Mama's blog.....

I did not skip taking a shower on Saturday and stay in my pajamas so long that when someone finally came to my house (to pick up a part from my husband)...I had to run to put on some clothes without being seen.

I did not let my little boy nap until 5 o'clock on Sunday afternoon since we do have to get up on Monday morning so early.

I did not go see FireProof with my husband on Friday night and think that it was great and probably a life changing experience.

Sleep Issues....

I need serious help here. My little boy is 3 and he never sleeps thru the night. We have gone from sleeping on the couch, to sleeping on the floor, and sleeping in my bed. I did not like any of these options, but I do have to get up and go to work in the mornings. He does sleep in his toddler bed, but will get up at least once during the night. It can be up to three times a night. He really wants to get into my bed but we will not let him. So I just take him back to his room and he goes back to sleep. I feel like I have a newborn here? I have offerred prizes for sleeping all night. The latest phase is...he will not get up, but instead yell for me until I come to his room? I am sure someone else has this problem too. Any suggestions?

I Did Not.....

I did not hit my little boy in the head with the car door. That would be aweful.

I did not let my family eat supper at my mom's because her food is better. LOL.

I did not let my little boy tee tee in the grass 3 times last week in front of a store. Oh my goodness who would do that? Oh the joys of potty training.

I did not secretly pull for Georgia during the Alabama game against my family.

I Did Not........

I did not leave the washing machine lid open all night w/ a full load of close in it so that no clothes were washed. (Who would be that silly?)

I did not let my 3 year old sleep on the couch last night. (Who would do that?)

I did not read blogs all day when I was supposed to be working.

I did not turn in a receipt to my boss that was 3 cents off. (I work in accounting it should be exact. LOL. )

I did not eat chips and candy for lunch so that I could go shop for more shoes. (My hubby says no more shoes).
